About the event

At Sugar Plums, we're proud of the diverse backgrounds of our teachers. We believe that diversity adds so much to the experience of the children. And so we've launched a new program, called Celebrating Diversity, where each month we theme activities during the day around the culture and background of one of our teachers.

This month, we're celebrating two teachers - Ms. Elvire and Ms. Biithja - who both hail from Haiti. And in honor of their Haitian background, we're celebrating Haitian Flag Day, a national holiday in Haiti. Our children will be learning about Haiti, participating in a flag construction project, hearing Haitian music, listening to Haitian storys and learning more about Haitian folklore.
